Shared through the official Microsoft Flight Simulator Facebook page, the company has officially announced their works with Aerosoft, a well-established addon developer, on the ATR 42-600 and 72-600 for the new platform.
Two previews were shared showcasing both aircraft exteriors with mentions of an expected release date in 2022. This kind of news was quite unexpected as there were no mentions of the development before today’s post. Both previews of the aircraft can be seen below.

It remains unknown whether Asobo plans on releasing the aircraft for free, or if it will be a paid addon. There is not much we know yet about the development as the post only announced the development itself, but stay tuned on FSNews for future news and updates.
Both, the ATR 42 and ATR 72 are regional airliners assembled in Toulouse, France. With almost 500 units built in case of ATR 42, and over 1000 in case of ATR 72, airlines all around the world use the aircraft to transport not only the passengers but goods as well.
