NEW! MSFS2020 - Asobo Baron G58 Improvements Mods - V.1.5.4

This is a modification to the MSFS 2020 default Asobo Baron G58 aircraft and is primarily aimed at improving the aircraft flight model to make its overall performance more closely match the actual aircraft, providing a much closer experience to flying the real aircraft.  Multiple changes have been made to the flight model parameters, and the aircraft weight and balance, which are detailed in the Change Log file under the Documentation folder.

This mod is easily installed by simply unzipping the download file and copying the mge-asobo-aircraft-baron-g58 folder to the MSFS Community folder.  It will then replace the existing default Baron G58 aircraft in the MSFS aircraft selection screen, and will also continue to utilize all of the existing available Liveries.  To uninstall the mod and return to using the MSFS default aircraft, simply remove it from the Community folder.

Version 1.5.0

• The Empty Weight has been increased to 4,010 lbs. to match the actual aircraft specs.
• The Horizontal Stabilizer Incidence angle has been changed to 2.0 degrees DOWN to more closely match the actual aircraft.  This improves the pitch stability and response to power changes.
• The default Takeoff Trim for a Runway start has been increased to 5.0 degrees UP.

Version 1.5.1

• The Horizontal Stabilizer Incidence angle has been changed back to 0 degrees to match the actual aircraft.
• The default Takeoff Trim for a Runway start has been increased to 3.5 degrees UP.

Version 1.5.2

• The Empty Weight has been reduced slightly to remove the weight of the unuseable fuel which is already included by MSFS in the total fuel weight, and to allow the tanks to be filled with the default 2-person payload without exceeding MTOW.
• The G1000 NXi Speed Range Bands and the V-Speed markings have all been updated to match the actual aircraft POH performance specs.
• The default Takeoff Trim for a Runway start has been increased slightly from 3.5  to 4.0 degrees UP.  This improves the MTOW takeoff performance at the default weight with full fuel tanks.
• The Empty Weight CG vertical position has been moved down slightly to more closely match the actual aircraft.  This improves both the pitch and roll stabililty.

Version 1.5.3

• The Pitch, Yaw and Roll Gyro Stability have all been increased from 0.25 to 1.0 to improve the aircraft stability during turbulence.

Version 1.5.4

• The Rudder Effectiveness and Rudder Max Angle Scaler have been tweaked to improve cross-wind takeoff and landing performance and handling.  This reduces the twitchiness during cross-wind takeoff and landing while still meeting the POH max cross-wind performance specs.
• The Elevator Effectiveness and Elevator Max Angle Scaler have been tweaked to improve the pitch stability and handling, while still maintaining the ability to perform a full stall with full up elevator.
• The default takeoff trim for a Runway start has been reduced to 3.0 degrees UP.
